Organized into three sections, this exhibition begins with a dive into OMAA’s archives to explore the construction of the Museum’s original building and its celebratory opening. The Architect of a Museum then surveys the early career of Henry Strater, who founded the institution. Finally, a selection of artworks shed light onto Strater’s role in establishing the inaugural collection and his ongoing efforts to make significant acquisitions for the fledgling museum. Together, this exhibition will bring us back to the start of a legacy now 70 years strong.
